MARINNONET PROJECT IRS FORUM – CANARY ISLANDS (Viernes 12 de junio de 2026 de 10:00 a 11:30 Banco Español de Algas (Taliarte))

MARINNONET es un proyecto europeo co-financiado bajo la primera convocatoria del programa Interreg Espacio Atlántico 21-27. MARINNONET tiene como objetivo desarrollar una nueva red transnacional de cooperación de Investigación, Desarrollo e innovación (I+D+i) para impulsar la capacidad de innovación del sector de la Biotecnología Azul del Espacio Atlántico, implantando las bases para unas prácticas de innovación abierta ampliamente participativas y unas actividades de I+D+i guiadas por el interés del mercado.

¿Qué puedes esperar de este evento?

Esta jornada, en la recta final del proyecto, tiene como objetivo explorar estrategias prácticas para estrechar la transferencia entre la investigación y la industria en biotecnología marina en el contexto regional de las Islas Canarias y el Norte de Portugal. La presentación destacará las dinámicas de colaboración inter-regional, los mecanismos de apoyo a este ecosistema, las experiencias académicas, y las acciones piloto desarrolladas en el marco del Proyecto MARINNONET.

Además, el foro se integra en las actividades que se realizan durante la semana del 8 al 12 de junio en el ámbito de los EMBRC-ERIC Scientific Days 2026 que se celebran en la ULPGC.

¿Por qué participar?

Este foro es una oportunidad para compartir los desafíos a los que nos enfrentamos actualmente y para intercambiar ideas con personas con intereses similares. Además, será una excelente ocasión para ampliar la red de contactos y encontrar socios potenciales para futuros proyectos.

What is MARINNONET?

MARINNONET is a European project co-funded under the first call of the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme 2021–2027. Its main objective is to develop a new transnational Research, Development and Innovation (R&D&I) cooperation network to strengthen the innovation capacity of the Atlantic Area Blue Biotechnology sector. The project aims to establish the foundations for widely participatory open innovation practices and market-driven R&D&I activities.

What can you expect from this event?

As the MARINNONET project approaches its final stage, this workshop aims to explore practical strategies for strengthening knowledge transfer between research and industry in marine biotechnology, with a particular focus on the regional contexts of the Canary Islands and Northern Portugal. The programme will highlight interregional collaboration dynamics, support mechanisms for the blue biotechnology ecosystem, academic experiences, and the pilot actions developed within the framework of the MARINNONET project.

In addition, this forum is part of the programme of activities taking place during the EMBRC-ERIC Scientific Days 2026, hosted by the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) from 8 to 12 June.

This forum provides an excellent opportunity to discuss the challenges currently facing the sector and to exchange ideas with professionals and stakeholders who share similar interests. It will also offer valuable networking opportunities and the possibility of identifying potential partners for future collaborative projects.
